Article 4

Introduction In Article 3 I discussed what in fact may exist. The only logical answer is - energy. I also pointed out that despite the fact that the individual comes into existence the time of conception one could also say that each of us began existence at the beginning of time because existence is a process and the conception wasn't necessarily the very start. I also mentioned that the only thing which exists can be energy. Energy exists forever. So in theory there doesn't seem to be any reason why an individual's thoughts should actually die when the person dies. So can a person's thoughts survive death - can a person exist after death? This article is very short because there seems to be a very easy way to investigate whether a person can survive death and their thoughts (personality) can live on. This isn't a thought experiment - it is literally what you and I experience every day of our lives.
Question: Did you fall asleep last night?
Question: What can you remember of last night when you were asleep?
Question: Were you conscious of your own existence when you were asleep?
Question: If you fell asleep last night and never woke up would you be conscious of your existence? One can only assume that death is a 'severe' form of sleep. If one fell asleep for ever one would cease to exist consciously - even though the body would exist. When the body dies at death how can a personality, or self consciousness, exist? That is unless something is ADDED at the time of death? But that makes no sense at all! The simple answer is - there is no life (consciousness) after death. That answer - like death itself - is FINAL.
